Diversity Spotlight Thursday #2

Diversity Spotlight Thursday is a weekly meme created by Aimal from Bookshelves and Paperbacks! Each week you feature a diverse book that you have read and enjoyed, a diverse book on your TBR, and a diverse upcoming release.

Hi guys! Today I’m bringing you a second edition of Diversity Spotlight Thursday. I haven’t done one of these in a while, and I have been reading some pretty awesome diverse books lately that I want to feature!

MoS cover 2

I just finished this book a day ago, and while I have some mixed feelings, I really enjoyed it overall! It’s a fantasy reminiscent of Six of Crows that features a genderfluid MC! While I can’t speak for the accuracy of the representation, I thought that it was really awesome to see a non-cisgender protagonist in such a hardcore YA fantasy, which is unfortunately very rare. I’m also glad I was able to read this during Pride Month. Look out for my review soon!

To Be Read

WDMR cover

I anticipated the release of this book for MONTHS, and even received my copy several days before the official release date. But life got in the way as usual, and I still haven’t read this super cute contemporary featuring Indian-American teenagers set up in an arranged marriage. Hopefully I can get to it soon!

Releasing Soon

Gentleman's Guide Cover

I’m pretty sure everyone and their uncle’s dog is excited for this book, but I after reading so many raving reviews, I too am experiencing the hype. This releases in less than two weeks, and I definitely can’t wait to read this hilarious historical fiction with two gay protagonists!

  1. Great post! I loved SAL in Mask of Shadows even the story itself wasn’t my favorite ever. When Dimple Met Rishi and Gentleman’s Guide are both PHENOMENAL though!

    1. Thanks! I’m glad to hear you liked Gentleman’s Guide and WDMR, I can’t wait to read them! I hope they live up to all the hype!
