Last night I started watching Bridgerton (loving it so far!), but it got me thinking a lot about what it’ll be like to watch the Shadow & Bone show. I’m simultaneously sooo nervous and excited, I just know that at the very least it’s gonna be visually stunning to watch (judging from the mini trailer we got) 🦌

But what is it going to be like seeing one of the most meaningful stories of my life be translated into a new format? Into a new storyline? I have high hopes, but I know some things I may be inevitably disappointed by. Blame the Percy Jackson movies, they gave me an eternal fear of adaptations 🤧

What are your thoughts on adaptations? Love them or hate them? Are you nervously anticipating the Shadow & Bone show like me? 🖤🌙

For the past couple weeks I’ve been rereading parts of Ember, Torch, and Reaper before I start Sky, and I didn’t realize how many details I had forgotten! This series is truly a masterpiece 🖤 I’m scared out of my wits for Sky though because I’m firmly attached to Harper and Tas and I feel like they both are prime targets for tragedy 😭😭 (please no spoilers of course!)

Have you guys read this series? Don’t you think it would make the most amazing TV show? As I reread the battle scene at the end of Reaper I couldn’t help thinking how awesome it would be on screen! 🎥

Well, we finally made it to Friday, and I’m sure

Well, we finally made it to Friday, and I’m sure you all can agree that this week has been...weird, to say the least 😅

Things just feel incredibly strange as we all try to process, acknowledge, and move forward from this week’s events, with hopefully real change on the horizon. But meanwhile I’ve been finding some solace in my nightly reading, even if it hasn’t been a lot, and I’m so thankful for that 🖤

Now to talk about something more uplifting: this series and how I’m absolutely DYING for book 3! Roshani left off Silvered Serpents in an even crueler cliffhanger than I expected (silly me, thinking one of my favorite authors would actually be nice 🙄😂). I love Enrique and Zofia and Laila and the whole gang so much, I’d happily read an entire book of them discussing cookies and baked goods just to tide me over 😂🙏🏼

Have you read this series? What did you think? Any working theories for the third book? Personally I think we might get a new perspective from a certain someone in the group who we haven’t read from yet! 👀

Happy first book release day of the year!! 🥳 What releases are you guys excited about?

Personally I’ve been highly anticipating Lore, which will hopefully be in my hands soon as I wait for it to arrive in the mail! I’m also excited about The World Between Blinks, especially since I never read as many middle grade books as I would like to.

Do you guys like to preorder your anticipated releases? I’d say I’m about 50/50 in terms of preordering some and then getting others once they’re on shelves. Next week I think I’ll be taking a trip to B&N for Concrete Rose! 🌹

Two days ago I posted my favorite reads of 2020, so today I’m sharing the books I’m most hoping to read in 2021! 🙏🏼 These are the highly anticipated books I kept meaning to get to last year but never found a chance 🙈

Have you guys read any of these?? I know a few of them have gotten a TON of praise (looking at you Addie LaRue 👀), so I’m really dying to start them! And of course I’m ashamed to call myself a Grisha fan without having read Lives of Saints yet 🤧

One other I forgot to include in this picture is Aurora Burning!! It’s been too long since I’ve read an Amie and Jay book, so that one is definitely at the top of my list as well 🪐💫

🌟 Favorite Reads of 2020 🌟

Here they are friends, my top reads of the year! I only read 29 books in 2020 (a lot less than my usual 40-45), but these are a few books that I think will stick with me forever.

RWRB and Fable were the biggest personal standouts I would have to say, they really brought me so much hope and joy in some of the roughest times of my life. Alex & Henry and Fable & West earned a space in my heart permanently 💕

Next are my honorable mentions! I was going to pick my top 3 reads and just feature those, but I had way too many 5 star reads not to include them as well! Not pictured are My Lady Jane and Love & Luck, two audiobooks that I absolutely laughed and cried my way through. I really can’t recommend all these books enough!!
