Last year, before I started this blog, I saw some readers on bookstagram and Twitter participating in #ARCAugust. I thought it was pretty cool to have so many ARCs that you needed a whole month dedicated to reading them. Little did I know, a year later I’d be in that exact situation (I have Netgalley to thank for that)!
#ARCAugust is a yearly event hosted by Read. Sleep. Repeat. Here are the rules for participating:
- Any Advanced Reading Copy counts as part of this reading challenge; your backlist books count
- No blog necessary to participate, but you’ll need to include some form of social media as part of your sign up
- Use the #ARCAugust on social media to check-in
Having a long list of fall ARCs to read is both a blessing and a curse, I have a decent handful that I’m really excited about but not nearly enough time to read them all before their releases. So I’m hoping to kick some reading butt in August and knock out a bunch of those ARCs! Here’s my tentative TBR for the month, it’s a bit adventurous considering school starts back up on the 10th, but I just have to stay focused!
Clicking on a book’s title will take you to its Goodreads page.
Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert / August 8th
I recently got a physical ARC of this in the mail, I don’t know a whole lot about it but it seems like a really emotional contemporary with an intriguing premise! It also appears to have a F/F romance, so I’m excited to read this.
The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken / Sept. 5th
I was pretty surprised to get approved for this on Netgalley, since any book by Alex Bracken is bound to be in high demand. But this sounds like a hilarious, adventure-filled middle grade novel, a genre that I haven’t read in a very long time! I also really liked the Passenger series, so I’m eager to read more from Alex.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust / Sept. 5th
I was thrilled to win an ARC of this book through an Instagram giveaway, it’s a Snow White retelling that doesn’t sound like anything I’ve seen before. I can’t wait to read it!
MOXIE by Jennifer Mathieu / Sept. 19th
I flipped out when I saw this book was available for a Read Now download on Netgalley! Moxie is probably one of my most anticipated reads this year, a book about a girl that starts a feminist revolution at her school?! All I can say is that I’ll probably be taking notes for me and my school, LOL.
And that’s my list! If I have any extra time (which I highly doubt), the next ARC I’ll read is Invictus, which I got through Netgalley! Even if I can’t get to it during August, I’m hoping to read it soon, I keep hearing so many amazing things about it!
