The Best Bookish Shops

The Best Bookish Shops

I’m sure if you have a blog, bookstagram, or belong to the book community in any sort of fashion, you know about all the hype surrounding bookish merch. Candles, bookmarks, art prints, Funkos, bath soap, jewelry, lip balm, nail polish, pillows – the list goes on forever. And I’m by no means immune to any of this myself. As I type up this post, I’m currently surrounded by two recently-burned bookish candles, a pile of preorder swag (bookmarks, book plates, etc.),  a magnetic string thingy that holds up my art prints, a book-themed flip calendar that I got from a bookish subscription box, and two actual books. All of this in just one corner of my fairly large room FILLED with bookish stuff. You could say I have an obsession, but I’m guessing you probably do too.

So, in celebration of my love for book swag, I decided to feature a few of my top favorite (online) bookish stores! I tried to pick some shops that are underrated, that you guys may not have heard of before. Of course, I could name 15000 other shops that I adore, but that would be an extremely long post! (And obviously the title of my post is a bit facetious; what shops you consider the best are probably totally different than mine!) I also highlighted my personal favorite item from each shop, in case you need a recommendation to get you started.

Mini-Reviews: Always and Forever, Lara Jean & Strange the Dreamer

Mini-Reviews- AAFLJ & Strange the Dreamer

Hi friends! Some of you may remember, but about a month ago I took a blogging hiatus. And, well, I got SUPER behind on reviews as a result. I had plans to review everything I read while on hiatus, but that quickly became very overwhelming and highly unrealistic. So I chose the books I thought would make for the most interesting post, and decided to do my first mini-reviews! If you guys do want to read my thoughts on some of the other books I read, you can always friend me on Goodreads!

How To Create the Perfect Reading Mood

How to Create the Perfect Reading Mood

What’s this?? My very first discussion post? I’m so excited you guys! I hope you enjoy the topic, and big thanks to my bestie Jordyn @ Jordz the Bibliophile for helping me decide on it. Also, you may notice I finally came up with a post divider, hopefully it looks alright!

Now what exactly is the perfect reading mood? For me, it’s being in a mindset where I’m relaxed, focused, and excited to read as much as possible! But there are many factors that affect whether or not I’m in the right environment to obtain that mood. So, here’s a list that details exactly what I do when I sit down to read. Of course, not everything will apply to everyone – we’re all different people with different habits! But this is what I think creates the Perfect Reading Mood.

May Wrap-Up

Copy of February Wrap-Up

Hello my fellow bookworms! I can’t tell you how good it feels to be publishing another Wrap-Up post. Although they’re probably not the most interesting kind of posts to read, I find it very therapeutic to collect my thoughts on the last month, and see how much I was able to get done.

Most recently, my bookish attention has been focused on attempting to limit the number of books I buy. I’m guessing this is a problem for almost everyone reading this post, but it’s a really difficult one for me. Just check out some of my past wrap-ups to see what my hauls looked like! In order to try to lower my TBR and limit my spending, I came up with a book-buying ban – of a sort. In a nut shell, I only buy one book for every two books that I actually read. So far, it hasn’t been going too badly!
